I am writing this thread to let everyone know what is happening in Mumbai for dialysis patients.
We go for a dialysis in Mumba, Andheri. Centre is very good and Doctor& #39;s are brilliant. They even do the dialysis at subsidized cost to some marginalised people who cannot afford the charges. All staff is very good all g with the Nephrologists
Centre found a positive COVID-19 case so they asked every patient to do a test and then only they can get a dialysis. Even they asked the staff to do it. This is very fair because any patient may spread the disease.o
One of the testing centre for COVID-19 was Hiranandani Hospital Powai Mumbai. Patients though since SC has ordered that private labs should do it for free, hospital can do it for free. But Hiranandani hospital asked for 6525 Rs for a single test.
1000 Rs out of 6525 Rs are for the Doctor& #39;s consultation. Every patient of that dialysis centre has their own Doctor& #39;s consultation. So they said please wave off these charges of 1000 Rs. Surprisingly the Doctor was not even present to consult.
One patient waved off 1500 Rs (God knows why they waved off) but for other patients hospital was reluctant to wave off. They said either you pay all the money or leave. We cannot do your test. One PR person said he will check if you can wave off but later denied to do so.
Now these patients can& #39;t even afford the dialysis for monthly cost of 10000-12000 Rs because they are poor. And here a capitalist hospital in this time of pandemic still charging them and ripping them off and stealing the money.
All we are saying if you want to charge then charge a reasonable amount even though SC has ordered or not. But why deceive people under the grab of extra charges and make money from poor people. This is a very bad capitalist mentality.
And then there are the same businessmen come in media and advertise about their social responsibility and all. Why govt has not even thought for dialysis patients. These patients will not have dialysis for 3-5 days till the result doesn& #39;t come
Is @CMOMaharashtra @MoHFW_INDIA @PMOIndia @narendramodi @PMOIndia don& #39;t care about patients dying because of dialysis since this numbers will not come under COVID-19 death (same like deaths due to lock down)
When Bollywood celebs tweets entire nation erupts and tweets and retweets them. Our vote doesn& #39;t count here or our life doesn& #39;t count here. Why @CMOMaharashtra is not even bothered about this situation and taking the action.
Jn 1000 Rs there patients can have 2 dialysis. Now they have to earn the same money in this lockdown to have these 2 dialysis.
@balajis, @naval we need whistles blowers like you who can address these issues at global scale and at every you try level. Without you we would even have prepared ourselves.
Tagging @paraschopra also to see the situation and spread this as much as we can. I am not doing for nay cheap publicity but for the poor people. If I am wrong at these level I will delete all my tweets and apologise publicly. But if this wrong then this has to be stopped.

@AUThackeray please look into this. In this pandemic Hiranndani Hospital is looting is with extra charges of COVID-19 test even SC ordered it should be free. We were even ready to pay the test fees but why we should pay the 1000 Rs doctor& #39;s consultation fees when he wasn& #39;t there.
People will just die if @CMOMaharashtra starts shutting down the dialysis centres. Patients can& #39;t survive without the dialysis for more than a week. This will me horrific indirect murder of people because of lack of understanding of the situation.
Please act and see if you can do anything for these patients. @AUThackeray we have high expectations from you.
