A big concern in public health right now is that a new order will discourage marginalized groups from seeking testing. Law enforcement is being given access to #covidontario test results. This is not just people they have been in contact with, but anyone. #Covid19

Marginalized groups already have a bad relationship with police. They won’t want their personal health information shared, and we are afraid they will avoid testing. This is a huge problem because we desperately want them tested. #LGBQT #BLM #FirstNations #Covid19

But doesn’t this protect law enforcement/firefighters?
No! We only identify a percentage of the actual cases and we are concerned about asymptomatic transmission. They need to treat every call as potential #COVID19.

What harm could it cause?
It could drastically slow response times as they look-up individuals before responding. I also don’t trust some of the groups included in the order to maintain the proper confidentiality of these results.
