I came on @Twitter eleven years ago in April of 2009.

In all its Good, Bad and Ugly moments, one thing stands out for me: I love that many more citizens use their Voice.

If you are one of the 1 Million people that follow this handle, I hope we continue learning together.🙏🏾
Thanks @ChineEzeks for making me join @Twitter to be able to engage my passion of teaching Public Policy . You gave me the insight on hashtags and helped birth #PublicPolicy101.

The vision stays alive.

Daaalu! 🤴🏿❤️🤗🙏🏾
In my 11 years on here @Twitter , I have watched a good number of you grow into amazing leaders in civic society, business and government. I have watched you excel get married and become parents. Watched you innovate solutions to advance humanity.

Today, I celebrate you folks.
It was @Twitter that gave 💪🏾💪🏾 to our our cry for Justice of Rescue for our 219 #ChibokGirls . Before there was ever a street march, there was one week of our Twitter Street cry that went global chanting:
#BringBackOurGirls!
Since then, 107 are back.
We cry for 112 still.
In my #ElevenYearsOnTwitter, there have been moments some asked me why I subject myself to being “insulted by little children on @Twitter after all your achievements in life”.
I gave a standard response:
No society becomes great whose citizens sealed their mouths to avoid insult.
My #ElevenYearsOnTwitter have earned me malicious attacks from supporters of the two dominant political communities — Government and the Opposition parties on an Equal Opportunity handover-basis. 😂
My consistency keeps me focused on just one Demand:
Good Governance. #ThatsAll.
The truth is there are no “little children” on @Twitter .

Everyone with a twitter handle has equal right to express their point of view.
They have a right to engage others’ point of view also.

The healthier the interaction, the better our communities and wider society can be.
Some make the mistake of assuming that keeping an active presence on @Twitter is because, “she no get job”.
Always made me 😂😂

Those who know the crazy work life I combined and still do, with my tweeting, often wished they would be permitted to publish my monthly schedule. Naa.
When like me, you make a choice to not live solely for your comfort, it strengthens your resolve to take whatever comes with standing up to the Establishment- regardless of who they are.

What you know of me on @Twitter is the person I have been in my over 30 years of activism.
Is it not the person who is available and accessible that citizens will see to insult and attack?
I choose to be available ‘cos nothing changes a society better than having some of us that are privileged speak up when things are wrong, regardless of whose ox is gored.
It’s okay.
I chose @Twitter .

I am glad and grateful it has helped me enormously push causes that advance society.

I am glad and grateful for some of the fantastic human beings and friendship it brought my way.

I am looking to many more years of having @Twitter amplify our Voice.
