thread: things i learned during my first year of uni
1. being in uni really helps you grow, it really is an opportunity to become friends w/people who aren& #39;t like you and that is such a good thing. being out of your comfort zone, as scary as it is, is such a beautiful thing. it is inevitable that things will change so the best (1)
thing to do is make the best out of it!!
2. uni is undoubtedly more stressful than school is, but it& #39;s also nicer because it just feels like you grow up. my personality became stronger, i don& #39;t know what the science behind it is, i just started loving/accepting myself more.
3. learning to bridge the gaps between geography and lifestyle in relation to friendships is hard in uni, but it is so important. friends change but there are a precious few that i will always hold on to, and while uni put some of my friendships at risk, the stronger friendships-
are still as strong, and i am so thankful
4. i dont know what id do without @LailaAmawi thats a very important thing ive learnt
5. being a continent away from my parents is not easy, but it also somehow made my relationship with them stronger. i get homesick sometimes, but it gets easier when i remember that i& #39;m making them proud
6. starting over in a new country that i don& #39;t know anyone in away from everything i& #39;ve ever known was terrifying but it is also the nicest experience ive ever been through. it wasn& #39;t perfect but i& #39;m proud of the way i handled it, i& #39;m so glad i blossomed out of my comfort zone
7. as hard as some things get, if it means a lot to you, it works out. @EssRA3ED is the biggest example of that. long distance rly isn& #39;t easy but he makes it so much easier and talking to him used to comfort me during my homesickness, i am honestly so lucky
8. i made friendships that feel like family and that is the best thing i got out of this experience, and everything wouldve been so much harder without them. @kristinageorg1e @ii_mitchell_ii you guys really are my family
9. the workload in uni is soooo overwhelming, but if you study something you love and are passionate about, it is so worth it, you won& #39;t feel like studying is a burden if you major in smth you actually love
10. this is very important if you study in a country that isn& #39;t your home-country: always remember that you are a representation of your culture, and it is your duty to let people know that the media lies, and the misconceptions about your country aren& #39;t true. so in short-
احملوا أوطانكم معكم!!!
this is something i& #39;ve been trying to do in england alongside @jenahaddad (she& #39;s great
