Every Good Friday in the last 7 years, takes me down memory lane .

I had my 2nd son a week before Good Friday, on a Wednesday to be precise.

Before leaving the hospital, we ran the Regular tests for new borns , the results were not out until we got back home.
I returned to the hospital to pick up the results but unfortunately the Dr informed that he had Jaundice and we had to return to the facility to enable him receive Photo therapy.
Phototherapy is a treatment with a special type of light (not sunlight).Sometimes used to treat newborn jaundice by lowerin the bilirubin levels in your baby's blood thru a process called photo-oxidation. Photo-oxidatn adds O2 to the bilirubin so it dissolves easily H20 (google)
We spent another 7 days in the hospital because his case was intense and simultaneously I was handling a badly managed birth accident. His birth weight was 4.8kg ( big baby ) on pulling him out , they applied pressure on his shoulder and was diagnosed of Erb’s palsy.
Lol.. don’t cry for me.

I was traumatized , dangling between both. I spent my Good Friday strolling between my Private ward and his Phototherapy room whilst still managing his left hand that stayed immovable.
His naming ceremony was conducted in the hospital, & very unceremonious ,I must say.
He was discharged on the Tuesday after Easter or so ..
Talk about being sad after Child birth, that was one clear example.
While he got better from the Jaundice ,the Erbs palsy remained.

The fear of visitors asking many questions made me take refuge outside of the country for some months.
At least no one would say
‘ What happened to your baby’s hand ?’
It’s 7 years now & before I think about the death of our Lord Jesus Christ, that hits me first ..

How’s the Good Friday going ?

Oh, I forgot to mention .. His Left hand is perfect now.
