The album was written & produced entirely ONLY by Miley & Oren Yoel at her own home studio.

Debuted at #5 on the US Billboard 200 w first-week figures of 45,000 album-equivalent units.Malibu (lead single) peaked at #10
Still don& #39;t know how the industry works?

Miley is happy w her label cause they give her a lot of freedom. Is this really good?Well, for the artist’s creativity, yes, but more freedom translates into less promotion. The record company wasn’t going to invest a “non-conercial” album
In addition having only one producer & one writer, there are not many people involved in the album, so there aren’t commercial interests from the dozens of writers/producers that usually participate in an album of this level.
Wasn’t promoted on radio(something important today)w only 1 week of television promo. After the release both the label & Miley seemed to have forgotten about the release. In fact,in the last interview, she said that she already had 2 songs for the next & it was never promoted again
To all this we must add that the concept/image/sound of the album wasn’t “mainstream” (something that is not bad).

While the industry struggles to see who releases the most complex album with a lot of modern arrangements, electronic sounds, strong beats... She came w this album
(almost homemade) that only has her voice, guitars & all kinds of acoustic instruments & even with everything against her, she managed to sell (not what she is used to) but even got her already iconic hit Malibu. I would like to see many people of the industry achieving this.
If she has somthing that can’t be denied it’s her bravery. The album is a sweet journey through her "reconciliation" w the youngest Miley & her romance w Liam. It’s honest & simple. It makes u think that when Miley released Malibu she didn& #39;t necessarily think about an entire album
