1964-1965: After signing for Chelsea, he made such a good impression in the reserves after scoring 30 goals in 20 games, Osgood made his debut at 17 years old. This came against Workington AFC in the League Cup, where Osgood scored both goals in a 2-0.

1965-1966: Osgood had to wait for his second appearance and after a successful close-season tour of Australia, where he scored 12 goals in 8, Osgood lined up against AS Roma in the Inter-City Fairs Cup. Chelsea beat the Italian side 4-1.

1965-1966(Continued): He scored his first in the league after his 4th appearance in a 2-1 win against Sheffield United on the 30th October 1965. Osgood was included in the provisional 40-man squad for the 1966 World Cup squad by Alf Ramsey, but didn't make the final 22.

1966-1967: A season to forget for Osgood as he suffered a broken leg in a League Cup Tie against Blackpool. He went on to miss the rest of the season.

1968-1969: Osgood’s goal scoring ability upfront would help bring silverware to Stamford Bridge. Osgood scored in every round of the 1969-70 FA Cup (the most recent player to do so) with Chelsea eventually winning the competition in a replayed final against Leeds United.

1969-1970: Osgood kept on scoring, on the way to Chelsea winning their first European Trophy, he scored 5 against Jeunesse Hautcharage in the first leg of a European record win of 21-0 on aggregate. He scored in the European Cup Winners' Cup final against Real Madrid.

The Sad Goodbye, For Now: Due to financial problems at the club and a series of disagreements with Dave Sexton, Osgood signed for Southampton in March 1974 for £275,000. Osgood scored 36 goals in 157 appearances for Southampton. Helping them win the FA Cup in 1976.

The Return Of The King: After a spell with Philadelphia Fury in the USA, Osgood returned to Chelsea in December 1978. He scored 1 goal in 23 which came against Middlesbrough. Chelsea were eventually relegated. Osgood retired from playing in December 1979 at 32.
