LGBTQ+ people are the busiest people you’ll ever meet. We’re high achievers. We have a lot to prove. We cut through the crap (1/5)
We’re born into a system which doesn’t hand us privileges on a plate. We navigate environments which continuously invalidate us. We have been weathered by our experiences, and fortified at the same time (2/5)
Often others will dictate to us how we should behave, whether at work or at home. The truth is, we choose what we deserve. We have enormous willpower. We have the strength. Never underestimate your life experiences (3/5)
LGBT+ people push forward in the hardest of times. Sometimes because we had to just to survive. In the hopes that eventually we will find a sense of community and belonging. We have to seek that - that in itself is a lack of privilege (4/5)
I’m taking this weekend to let go of the stress, just switch off my mind from it all. Why? Because sometimes we just need to breathe again, to feel joy, to reflect, and come back to push even further (5/5)
