I'm about an hour and forty minutes into rewatching The World Is Not Enough, and boy let me tell you...this is boring as shit.

I used to like this one and I'm honestly kinda shocked how badly it's held up.
Like five-ten minutes ago there was a helicopter with a giant rack of buzzsaws hanging off it and i just didn't care at all.

It's all done on auto-pilot and so...boilerplate.
It's like the exact opposite of A View To A Kill, which is also a Bond movie on auto-pilot. Except it's really, really, really fun and has Christopher Walken endlessly chewing the scenery.

Oh, and this:
It's indicative of their eras I guess: a by-the-numbers Roger Moore Bond flick is really fun and super shameless, while a by-the-numbers Pierce Brosnan Bond flick is super boring.
Which sucks because like Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies still hold up.

I just rewatched Tomorrow Never Dies earlier tonight and it's actually aged really well. Mainly due to how shitty our media climate has been for the last twenty years.
Due to isolation induced boredom, I started watching the Bond movies in release order starting with A View To A Kill, The Living Daylights, and Licence to Kill on Wednesday.
Until now, Licence to Kill was the weakest one I'd seen. Which was just unpleasant and kinda dull.

But at least there was some ambition there. They were trying to do something new, even if it didn't work.
The World Is Not Enough though? Has one new idea (female main villain) and does nothing with it. It's such a waste.

At least Licence to Kill had a dude getting eaten by a shark, young Benicio Del Toro getting shredded, and Bond lighting the main bad guy on fire.
If I had to rank the Bond movies I've watched and rewatched so far:

1. Goldeneye (rewatch)
2. A View To A Kill (1st time watch)
3. The Living Daylights (1st time watch)
4. Tomorrow Never Dies (rewatch)
5. Licence to Kill (1st time watch)
6. The World Is Not Enough (rewatch)
Really not looking forward to Die Another Day, especially after how bad The World Is Not Enough was on rewatch (finished it while writing this thread).

I always avoided it before based on reputation, so who knows. Maybe it'll surprise me and be funbad like A View To A Kill was?
I just hope Die Another Day isn't boring. There's nothing worse than a boring James Bond movie.
