The nation’s largest reservation is being ravaged by Covid-19. The rates of poverty & sickness, the isolation & erasure,of Native Americans is no more incidental or accidental than it is for black ones. These are the only two groups in this country who did not *choose* to be a part of America, and so have suffered and still suffer the worst.

Unlike states and cities, tribes were not automatically included in the relief package but have to apply for grants to get aid in fighting coronavirus and its effects. Why?
