This is a great thread. I’ve been struggling a bit with the idea of authoritarianism today because of that viral video of that awful person getting arrested in Richmond. If everyone had her mindset and was permitted to do so, we would all flock to the river. https://twitter.com/stavvers/status/1248573715161452544
It’s frustrating to watch because the police were very calm and polite and gave her so many chances to leave.

Richmond is the next town over from me and I ran there the other day. It’s a very affluent area to live and a lot of people were sat on benches. Wasn’t sure how to feel.
It’s true that I do feel powerless and scared right now. It’s made me accept that it’s still nice to have the freedoms were permitted, like being able to go out running.

I can’t stop thinking about the emotional side of this pandemic. People die alone and family can’t grieve.
I can’t stop thinking about the range of emotions frontline NHS doctors and nurses must be going through in all of this. I feel like we are constantly applauding them whilst failing to consider their mental wellbeing and mortality.
