Another thing missing from @Peston’s piece on this yesterday: a relaxation of restrictions would lead to further spikes in healthcare usage (esp ICUs) when we’ve not even reached our first peak yet. The discussion of the negative financial costs of the lockdown seem to be held in a vacuum - as if we can simply ease up the restrictions and the only result will be a few more sick people.

None address the unsolved ICU utilisation-capacity problem that’d -> more economic harm
This is obviously separate to the moral question of how such a move would be putting vulnerable people at greater risk, which is an entirely different set of arguments.
