yall too busy bickering with eachother to be ready for this conversation but JJ's ending actually REINFORCES Rian Johnson's message. Rey being a Palpatine doesn't conflict with TLJ's new direction AT ALL.
i understand the disappointment from some who were hoping that she 'came from nowhere', but the message still works. whether she comes from sith blood, jedi blood or ordinary blood, who she is isn't affected by where she comes from. it's her actions that define her...
this right here. luke's words are everything. Leia would've trained Rey no matter WHERE she came from. THAT is the point.
those of you who can't connect with her as much now that you know that she's a palpatine are making the very mistake you rallied against when you were happy to learn she wasn't the daughter of a jedi. it still changes NOTHING. if anything it reinforces Rian's point.
Rey is, and has NEVER been, 'no one'. and if that's what you call her then i think you should re-assess how you see her character arc.

no one comes from nowhere. no one is 'no one'.

she is who she is because of her heart. her spirit. that's why she becomes 'Rey Skywalker'.
but, again, as i said, yall aint ready for this conversation so i'll stop there.

now continue bickering amongst eachother about which "competing vision" you prefer, JJ or Rian. i'll just shut up and let you continue bickering as i enjoy the vision as a whole.
