Couple o' thoughts

1/ Elites have optimized the beacons, mechanisms and procedures to restrain dissenters and make a docile public forget what freedom was, or how it expressed itself. If you don’t remember, you can’t restore.
2. Spectacles at the coliseum always got larger. And so will ours. Forevermore, and with few intermissions or acts of levity.

If you think Covid-19 was big, wait til you see what comes next, and then after that, and after that, and so on.
Once people are released from quarantine(s), they will hurriedly disembark from their cruise ship prison for a buying spree, then rush back to their boat for dinner.
Each night they return, the boat’s layout will have changed, like Dark City. No-one remembers its previous design
Small/medium sized biz, politicians have not suffered from a scarcity of new ways to create revenue. Many companies that are being most affected by the kamikaze economy were already in the thunderdome against onerous new regulations that cartelized their industries
As the economy recovers quickly, favoring largest companies and what’s downstream of them, large employERS will be risk averse and not want to carry an inventory of W2 employees
Google/AMZN/FB etc have been eager to dump highly compensated employee to improve shareholder return
