The Gaza Youth Committee are ALLMEP members.
We object in the strongest possible terms to their detention by Hamas, and call for their immediate release. Article 19 of the UN Charter guarantees the right to freedom of opinion & expression.

The Committee’s activities involve speaking to people around the world about the terrible situation in Gaza

& need for 2m ppl living there to enjoy the freedom, peace & security that they're denied. Such activities fall squarely within rights enshrined in UN Charter, & unite ALLMEP's 125+ members. People-to-people engagement in pursuit of peace & justice is ALLMEP’s founding ideal

We defend the legitimacy & efficacy of P2P as a proven conflict resolution tool, & the right of members to engage in it freely, proudly & without intimidation or censure.

We are working with governmental, institutional & human rights groups to ensure immediate release of Gaza Youth Committee’s activists, & for their work in pursuit of peace, justice & understanding to be unimpeded by any governmental actors in either Israel or Palestine.
