I decided to check out the PlayStation 4 remaster of Final Fantasy 7. (not the new remake!). I found a new debug menu it in. Lets you play movies, not sure what else yet.
Ah ok, it's mostly just a bunch of extra cheat modes to make playing the game way easier. The PS4 version is actually an emulator for the PC version. It literally loads the old Windows 95 .exe files and emulates them. Internally the game is called "FF7-EMUPC".
So basically on the PS4 disc is the full PC version of the game, it seems to work on my PC.
Hahaha the debug mode gives you unlimited limit breaks! Nice.
Oh it gives you unlimited HP as well, and has options for giving enemies 1HP. I guess that's handy for testing the game.
The PS4 Remaster normally lets you speed up the game to 3x speed, and the debug menu also has this option. But there's also a 5x speed that can't be accessed by players or the debug menu. It's got a dedicated "5x" icon at the bottom-left, and it's so fast it's almost unplayable.
Ok, managed to break into the full developer debug "world". It's just full of NPCs that do crazy stuff. This exists in every version of Final Fantasy 7, but it's cool to see it running on the PS4 version.
