Today, I'm mostly going to be tweeting about a TV show that really captures the human experience, and makes us search within ourselves and ask, do we wanna be on top?

That show, of course, is America's Next Top Model.
Besides being legitimately the best show to ever grace our screens, it was also batshit mental and has aged like a fine bottle of milk. I've been watching it back during lockdown and here are my best moments...
That time in Season 13 when Tyra decided that the theme was 'mixing races' and put all the girls in blackface. She later (didnt) apologised by saying 'If anyone is offended I apologise. I always try to stretch the definition of beauty and that's what I did here'
Then there was Season 3 where they got Amanda who is legally blind and can only see light to walk a runway in pitch black (they literally used a night vision camera to record it)
Adrienne, Season 1 (I refuse to call them cycles) who was forced to leave hospital after food poisoning to attend judging or face elimination, then praised on it by Tyra. Throughout health was always not important
Lest we forget the moment Tyra asked a model this and nobody so much as blinked
That time Tyra pretended to faint in the house as an excuse to talk about an acting challenge
Then there was the time Tyra made Kahleen pose *in an 8ft grave* the same week her best friend died
That time Angelea won season 17 and then they mysteriously refilmed it excluding her because they discovered she had previously worked as an escort. Angelea is still my winner
In Season 2 when Shandi cheated on her BF with an Italian model who wasnt all that (I'm sorry) and they filmed her telling her bf over the phone.
That time in Season 7 when a model developed Hypothermia during a shoot, and the judges responded with 'You need to tell us when we're pushing you to hard' as if they wouldnt have sent her packing then and there
Then there was Michelle in Season 4 who has impetigo, but the other models accused her of having a flesh eating bacteria in the house for weeks and nobody intervened
Then there were the makeovers omg the haircuts, which usually involved somebody who had never cut their hair being shaved bald and sent packing that very week.
Omg remember when they gave that white girl a weave and it looked ridiculous and kept sliding off
That time in season 8 when Tyra decided a model wasnt being sexy enough and gave this piece of advice (which I carry with me to this day)
Also can we not forget all the challenges that revolved around Tyra trying to sell something? Like that time she decided to release a single and had all the contestants walk in the music video for 'Shake ya body' (an absolute bop btw)
Oh my god that time in season 15 when during makeovers she decided Chelsey could pull off a bigger tooth gap and SENT HER TO THE DENIST TO HAVE HER FRONT TEETH SHAVED DOWN
That time Tyra made the girls walk in insanely high heels, so much so one girl had to crawl off the runway, and another ended up on crutches
That time Kayla in season 17 didnt want to do a sexy shoot with a male model due to PTSD and they told her to 'suck it up, this is what it takes to be a model'. Here she is with winner Lisa Tomato
That time Tyra fired worlds first supermodel (always a sketchy claim) Janice Dickinson after 4 seasons, resulting in a lifetime feud
When Keenyah from season 4 opened up about her worries surrounding weight, and then they told her to 'embody an elephant' during that weeks photoshoot
