I love Elena, she did a lot of questionable things. But who didn’t in the TVDU.

She’s whiny? Do y’all stop to consider that she is that way because of the stuff she has gone through?—

— Her parents died while she was just 17, they died with her in the car with her, she was saved and they weren’t. Do you guys know what kind of burdens she was carrying? Cuz I sure can’t even begin to understand that.

Also, so many people tried to kill her...—

—and for what? Because she had doppelgänger blood? Because she had two ignorant vampire friends?

Was she selfish about the cure? Maybe, but she isn’t the only one that had selfish arcs.

Not to also mention about family members dying on her,—

—she watched her aunt die right in front of her, her brother died (yes I realize he came back) so yeah I think Elena has a lot of reasons to be who she is and all valid.
