As we continue our efforts to fight #Covid19, it is equally important to take effective steps to provide succor and support to the economically vulnerable and the small and medium business enterprises. This will require elaborate, systemic interventions by the Government. 1/n
In addition to a medical, administrative response - we will have to consider an Economic Response to #Covid19. People facing severe loss of income, businesses that might not survive and families that will find it very hard to put food on the table. 2/n
We will have to improve and improvise established food support and distribution mechanisms. We will have to ensure moratoriums on loan repayments across the board. Perhaps time to consider an Emergency Wage Subsidy - to prevent an unprecedented spike in unemployment. 3/n
Need to consider Credit Availability for small businesses and initiate Emergency Business support measures - ensure most small businesses can cover operational costs and SURVIVE the lockdown. We can’t start this after the crisis is over. These measures have to be mid-crisis. 4/n
Limited point - Need to support:

1. Individuals and Families in need
2. Small businesses
3. Individuals

Under an ECONOMIC RESPONSE PLAN for #Covid19.

We need to do this NOW to prevent a back-breaking economic recession and mass unemployment in the near future. 5/5
