I’m pleased that Boris Johnson is recovering, because I don’t wish illness or death on anyone, and I hope the government succeeds in beating #coronavirusuk because if not, thousands will die and the economic implications are terrifying.
But we need to keep sight of the facts: 1/

the UK looks likely to have the highest death toll in Europe
this despite a four week head start on Italy
caused by failing to heed the warnings of the WHO and other governments
exacerbated by years of underfunding the NHS
Mr Johnson is still a liar and a racist. 2/

Why the UK media are trying to create a personality cult of one of the least appropriate PMs we have ever had, while he has failed to manage an unprecedented crisis is beuond me. 3.
