That’s exactly the problem. SA had done a proper anlaysis of the impact of the raise and they removed certain basics from VAT chargeable goods. They stated how it would be spent.

Lesotho is literally completely surrounded by SA but they don’t copy everything as is neither does Botswana and Namibia. So even the economy and SACU excuse barely holds.

SA does proper analysis before implementing things. We don’t, we just implement.
