I'm sorry, but bad people don't win. nobody does. life isn't a competition. we're not background characters because we're not in a story. yes we're flawed, and nobody is perfect. but we're allowed to be. we're not protagonists with values to uphold. we're people. and that's okay. https://twitter.com/im_upto_no_good/status/1248293314899505153
we're not stories. we're not alive for someone else. we live because we're born and we die because we're supposed to.

the beauty of our existence is it's sheer audacity in the face of absurdity. in searching for a purpose to life, we often forget that living IS the purpose.
yes we're all just as average, and deeply flawed, doing the best we can in an unforgiving world. it is the recognition of that fact, and perseverance despite, which is commendable. because we're not stories. we don't live to convey finite morals. we're infinite.
we live forever in the effect we have on others, through the lives we touch and interact with (the magnitude is irrelevant).

the pet you care for. the friend you spend hours with. the child you nurture.

how can we die when our influence continues forever, through them?
we're all the "boy who lived" and "the girl worth fighting for". we're all alive, and each breath is a fight for your own survival. you're fighting for yourself. because you're not fictional, and real life isn't kind. but why should that stop you from being kind to yourself?
a grand and beautiful life, is not necessarily a happy one. everybody suffers. death isn't a cause for sadness. it is inevitable.

our continued existence, inspite of insurmountable odds, is in itself a cause for celebration.
you're the only one who's going to experience your whole life in its entirety. nobody else can ever come close to understanding it, so don't make the mistake of living it for someone else.

because you're not a story. you're a person. and all you can do, is live.
