Ewan McGregor, Samuel L Jackson & Natalie Portman are all FANTASTIC actors. I love Lucas & the prequels, but even those 3, as good as they hard, struggled performing a bit because of dialogue & direction. And that’s why I HATE when people pick on Hayden.
He poured his heart and soul into this character and he was only in his early twenties. He studied the way Janes Earl Jones spoke. He studied the character, took advice from older actors and was very serious on set according to Natalie.
I don’t think he was amazing in AOTC, but certainly not deserving of the hate he got and like I said, a lot of that is due to dialogue. In ROTS I do think he was great, he gave us a hell of a performance. But fanboys got mad because Anakin was deeper than a badass Jedi who turns
evil and they couldn’t handle the complexities. They hated Hayden for years, he couldn’t take it so he pretty much left the Hollywood scene, yet he’s remained respectful all these years. We didn’t deserve him and ruthless fans kept him from having a great acting career.
It’s quite sad, but I’ll forever be grateful to him for how inspiring his performances were to me as a kid and still are today. I hope he gets a second chance to have a great career soon now that people are enjoying the prequels and him in them.
But I understand if that’s not what he wants to do. He has a daughter, lives on a farm and makes a living making lowkey movies. If he’s happy, I’m happy for him. Words can’t describe how much he’s meant to me personally, so all I can say is #ThankYouHayden
Sorry if this is riddled with typos, it’s 3:40 here, I stayed up to watch TCW lol so I’m tired
