Jimin was known to hook up with people throughout college, so it wasn’t terribly surprising when the summer of his junior year, one of his summer flings presented him with sole legal guardianship of a baby—his daughter.
Jimin was lucky enough to have his parents support the first year of her life, allowing him to finish his degree in computer science and find a decent job at a local research institute as a systems biology data analysts.

The money wasn’t great-
but paired with teaching intro level CS courses at the university it was decent enough to get him a comfortable home near his parents.

He’d still have to drop little Eunji off at his parents on the evenings he taught, but he made sure to pick her up every night.
The very least he could do on weekdays was spend the nights with her, reading her bedtime stories and tucking her in.

It got easier to manage once Eunji was old enough for daycare, Jimin could drop he off and pick her up, sometimes opting to take her to work with him
He worked in a lab office and his duties concerned computations and mathematical models so she wasn’t in danger of touching or being near any biohazards.

She was a quiet child, not fussy when it came to keeping herself busy. Jimin was thankful of his small miracle.
About a month after Eunji’s 5th birthday—when she joyfully exclaimed that she was finally going to /real/ school and not baby school anymore; Jimin didn’t have the heart to tell her that pre-K technically wasn’t /real/ school yet—Jimin found the love of his life.
Okay, so maybe it was Hoseok who indirectly pointed Jimin onto the path that would eventually lead him to his prospective love story, but that’s all in the past.

Right now, Jimin and Hoseok have been attending regular classes at the institute’s gym for the last 4 months
All thanks to Hoseok’s 2-for-1 gym membership deal the two friends have been getting back into dancing, something both men stopped, Jimin after Eunji came along forcing him to graduate early, and Hoseok a little more recently from having broke his foot at an underground battle.
The classes aren’t the best and definitely more aimed for the middle aged women that want to go to the gym but got tired of simple cardio and had no desire to take on the machines, but that’s okay, it’s enough to loosen Jimin up and leads to the two talking more than dancing.
After the initial month of dances classes the two decided to switch things up and take a pseudo-kickboxing course advertised as self-defense.

Jimin didn’t think he needed to worry about self-defense, after all the neighborhood was safe. He wouldn’t raise Eunji just anywhere.
However, the second they enter the training room, Jimin jaw almost drops.

Standing with his back facing the two is a slightly bulky figure. Jimin gets ahold of himself before he begins to drool over the toned man positioning the punching bag.
The man turns around and Jimin deflate a bit.

It’s not a man, but a boy, fine, a young adult, but still too young for Jimin to be crushing over.

He gets secondhand embarrassment from himself once the boy’s doe eyes sweep over him, scoping out the attendees.
Jimin looks around the room as well to see only four other
