This entire COVID-19 episode is by no means a good thing, obviously. But it's an opportunity for all of us to become better at taking care of ourselves and others. Making things to help keep ourselves and our families safer, taking precautions where we didn't used to. Building a
network in our communities to make sure the vulnerable don't get forgotten. Start with your neighbors. Reach out. Don't allow helplessness or despair to set in. Do something small to overcome the enormity of this. Remember what Mr Rogers said: "Look for the helpers." And be one.
We're going to have to help each other when we emerge from this. Try to look for lessons you can learn. Remember not to settle into the dark parts of your life, because that's how we get stuck. Find your way to right through this. You're so much stronger than you think.
(If you don't like my pep talk, I'm not sorry. I'm an insufferable - if cautious - optimist. I try to hide behind the veneer of cynicism, but this is who I really am. It may be annoying, but I'm ok with that.)
