The Strokes just dropped the fucking album and since everyone is asleep and doesn’t give a fuck about what I have to say I’ll will be doing a track by track review. Enjoy beeech.
#TheStrokes

Track #1 : The adults are talking
It’s really weird to understand every word Julian is saying. It’s a very clean and calm song. His vocals are so pretty. I love the slow but worth it build up. I feel like Julian was listening to a lot of billy idol or something, you can hear it.

Track #2 : Selfless
Such a ‘stare at your ceiling and think about life’ song. The guitar throws you into thought while Julian sings as love song about watching someone you love, love someone else. But he’s waiting for her. A selfless love. Great vocals and even better guitar.

Track#3: Brooklyn bridge to chorus
I love when a song is relatable asf but you can also jump around and dance to it. Fun ass song. The lyrics give me such a ‘Angles’ vibe. But instrumentals are fresh and experimental. Love that for them.

Track#4 : Bad Decisions
I fucking love this song. The perfect song to catch old fans and new ears to come back and check them out. It’s such a tribute to the old strokes, the beautiful guitar riffs, fab goin tf off on drums and Julian screaming.Billy idol all over it but it works

BITCH INDIE ME DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Windows down and the volume tf up. This song is creative asf and then it gets weird and then it’s a vibe again. TALENT.

Track #6: at the door
This is a song where you put on to cry or really question life. Julian voice is showin out. He sings you in a void but still guides you with his clear pronunciation and deep lyrics to a door in that mind of yours. Check the video out it’s sum crazy.

Track #7 : why are Sunday’s so depressing
Fucking slaps. It’s a feel good ass song despite the title. Or even maybe the lyrics a lil. The rest is a 10.

Track #8: Not the same anymore
The beginning gave me ‘is this it’ vibes. Idk why. His storytelling of a troubled person going through changes. Kind of sounds like a drunk guys thoughts. He’s upset but accepted how things aren’t like they used to be, it’s just a mess now.

Track #9: Ode to the Mets
The last song on the album and it’s a great closer. This song is genuinely beautiful. Julian is such a sad boy and with that writes with so much emotion and many messages. The song starts and you don’t know where it’s goin but it’s goes.

AND THAT CONCLUDES MY REVIEW.
I’m so happy they’re back. It’s crazy they’re debut album dropped 19 years ago. Such an amazing discography they’ve made. Idk if we’ll get another one of these so I’ll hold on tight to this one. Ty if you read this thread
