Cut up a thin, unused vacuum cleaner bag and use it as a filter between the layers of your homemade mask.

My attitude toward DIY masks is this: if I'm going to make my own mask, I'm going to make the most badass mask possible. I'm wearing it during flu

season, allergy season, wildfire season -- whatever. I've got to be able to wash the fabric. It has to have a frame, and it's going to look fun. And I'm going to precut the hell out of some vacuum bags so I can have filters in my purse.

those of you who use bagless vacs: you can get the bags cheaply on Amazon. I have stupid allergies, and I've been using a bagged vac for awhile. It makes a huge difference.)
