News covers change, surprise, the unknown. Right now there is so much of each that it's impossible for the news, or any alternative, to keep up.

So we're blind to almost all the unknown. The surprise. The change.

We know the base fact: we are in crisis. And too little more.
Is there a hospital that serves hundreds of thousands that can't find enough staff now? Probably.
Where is all the PPE going? Who knows.
Are donors or consumers being defrauded at large scale? Possible.
Who are the heroes to cherish, cheer, and champion? Who knows.
Who is getting stimulus money? Dunno.
Who is dying? (The less privileged.) We have only the most general answers.
Who can't pay the bills? (Many.) We understand too little.
Who is in charge? This one is easy: if you can't answer it, then the answer is nobody.
There are heroes. Elected leaders like Gavin Newsom. Volunteers working to get PPE here. Nurses acting like soldiers. Kids braving parents distraught. Parents (thank you @sarafenskebahat). More.
We just don't know.
Too much change happening at once. Surprise. The unknown.
The journalists, doing their best, are heroes, too.
