Anantnag | In brazen violation of COVID19 protocol, a person, who tested positive for coronavirus in South Kashmir’s in Anantnag district on Thursday, has spent only 4 days in administrative quarantine at Kokernag.
The infected person, who had directly came in contact with a deceased #coronavirus infected person, was also allowed to move home without being tested. #Anantnag
As per official sources, the infected person from Qazigund #Anantnag was shifted to Kokernag on 26th of March and sent back to home on 30th of March. He had came in contact with a Sopore resident, who later tested positive and died due #coronavirus, in Jammu on 13th of March.
“We kept raising the issue of testing with GMC #Anantnag but Principal didn’t heed to our requests and didn’t agree to take the samples of this infected person and 8 others for testing,” an officer poster at Kokernag administrative quarantine facility disclosed to me.
As per the #COVID19 protocol and directions issued by @Divcomkashmir those suspects, who had directly came in contact with a positive case, should have been tested, however the authorities at #Anantnag went against the protocol. Why, we must ask?
Chief Medical Officer #Kulgam, Dr Fazil Kochak told me that sample of the infected person was collected on 7th of April and report of his report was received on 9th of April. #Anantnag district administration has now declared Check-e-Wangud village of Qazigund as ‘Red Zone’
