Okay, Monk Kiatsu was black, this whole race interpretation from the animated show thing’s gonna be rly weird (First Spirit World scene was p cool)
Oh man. And now Adm. Zhou is Indian too. Still, Zuko and Iroh’s characters seem to stick very close to the show.

(Earth Kingdom prison set looks EFFIN AMAZING) This is total speculation, and I’m not defending this casting, but maybe Shyamalan made the Fire Nation Indian to widely cast an otherwise underrep.d demo into a AAA film? Which would be decent move if thats why he did it (6/?)
I’d also say that in any case Dev Patel seems like a good choice for Zuko, *except* for his damn hair. He shoulda went all out and put on that shaved ponytail, and then went with the cute boi slicked look like he did in book 2/3. Noah Ringer is also playing a great Ung

Again, different nations as difft east asian races is queasy, but maybe justified to de-confuse viewers unfamiliar w the canon. The Avatar Kyoshi statue is a lovely touch. The bending looked fine for a 2010 movie, the uprising was dope, and Sokka got his first kill

The uprising plot is kinda weird, I guess they did visit towns/influence unrest thru out the show. The Great Lib detail was good. CLIFF CURTIS heck yes!!!! To be fair, his royal chamber was underwhelming tho. Is Iroh Middle-Eastern, French or something?? Whys he not fat???? (9/?)
I’m starting to opine that the racial ambiguity/intermingling in this film is a perfectly good thing. And whoa, the Northern Air Temple in the canyon is sweet. AVATAR STATUES LOOK AMAZING. Gonna decrease tweet rate in this thread and enjoy the film more. GREAT TWIST (10/?)
