So this relates to the interests profiles (yes, there are two) that Twitter builds for you. Here’s how to view these profiles: https://twitter.com/timmaughan/status/1248357317659299842
Go to your Twitter settings then > Privacy and safety > Personalization and data > See your Twitter data > Interests and ads data
Hold on — it looks like there are three profiles:
Interests from Twitter is based on your activity on Twitter (once). That list looks like this—except it goes on forever:
You can uncheck certain interests (or check them if you want to for some reason( but you have to do that for every single item individually (as far as I can tell).
Inferred interests from partners is built using tracking data from your activity off Twitter, including tracking pixels from marketing companies and offline shopping behavior.
It looks a lot like the Twitter list. Mine is currently empty because off the unchecking of boxes I did earlier today:
It’s not clear to me if the list will rebuild itself over time.
The final section is Tailored audiences. I’ve opted out of that (and have for forever), however other activity I’ve done online still puts me in certain tailored audiences. 384 to be precise. I requested the advertiser list yesterday & will update this thread when I get it.
