I need to go to bed, but let me say this:

COVID-19 is a great example of why we can't talk about systemic oppression, racism, and white supremacy in the vacuum of a one off discussion. When we understand its potency, we can begin to understand it is woven into EVERY conversation
Yes yes. Even the casual conversation you have with a coworker at the water cooler. White supremacy is ever present.

So, when you confined a conversation about white supremacy to an offshoot space, a box, you allow it to fester and grow in every other space.
When you talk about trafficking, you need to acknowledge the white supremacy ingrained.
When you talk about activism, you need to acknowledge the white supremacy ingrained.
When you talk about leadership and management, you need to acknowledge the white supremacy ingrained
When you talk about professionalism, you need to acknowledge the white supremacy ingrained.
When you talk about our Code of Ethics, you need to acknowledge the white supremacy ingrained.

When you don't, you leave it unchecked and it grows.
This is why Black folks are dying in higher rates during this crisis.
We siloed white supremacy and "forgot" to factor in its presence in a pandemic. And now, WE suffer. Black people die at the hands of a white belief that talking about race is too much. messy
Fuck that. Stop being intellectually lazy.

PEOPLE ARE DYING!!!

We don't have time for your hurt feelings.
