Heard fr a homeless poc family today. They were sleeping in their car last night. @RiversidePolice got them out, handcuffed the adults face down on the ground in the rain while their 3.5 yr-old watched. Impounded the car w all their belongings. Why? Out of date car registration.
Maybe $500 to renew, & $300-$400 ea night the car's in the pound. Now no food, nowhere to sleep. How is this good policing during a pandemic? (Or any time, really, but that's a tweet for another day.)
Just wondering what police protocols are during a county-declared public health "local emergency;" not sure it makes sense to force families into increased risk, which increases the risk for us all.
