THREAD: Advanced Twitter Search and how to use it.
The most versatile tool you can use to research.

https://twitter.com/search-advanced
When you first open Advanced search you'll see this, you can scroll down further and there are more options. This first part is really just the basic search, with a few add ons. Pretty self explanatory. Scroll down for more on the advanced search.
This is the Accounts section. This is where if you wanted to search an account for something use the 'from'. If you wanted to see what people said to them use the "to" or '@'.

If someone deletes a tweet, the comments remain, use the "to" or "@" to search. Adds context..
To follow up on the Accounts section. Say you wanted to see something that @elenochle said, put it in the "from". If it comes up blank you can change the word or move his twitter handle to the "to" using the same words. If ENoCH had deleted a tweet, the conversation would remain.
Filters

You can see different options you can turn on and off. This is how I leave mine set up so I can see if the account holder had deleted the tweet in the conversation.
Engagement and Dates. These are very handy for searching news stories in time frames. When I go looking for old news sometimes I don't fill out the account section. That way I get all the news and not just stuff from one person. Set your likes and RT for popular ones.
So I wanted to search for Sprit cooking from anyone before Q started posting. I put pics how I set up my search in the photos below. Used no accounts names. Set up my dates, and BOOM! plenty O tweets about it. Some with links that will probably lead to rabbit holes.
If you have any questions on it Ill be happy to help out. Thanks!
