A story that will lift your heart: tonight on my in-laws block in the working class area of Boulevard Park in South Seattle, two teenagers drew chalk boxes in front of everyone's house.

They invited everyone outside at 6 pm for a block party. Told them to stay in their box.
They had drinks and laughter and shouted at eachother for two blocks long.

My mother-in-law, who is immunocompromised, hadn't left the house in six weeks.

These two kids, who she's known since they were littles, did it for her.

She is smiling.

Kindness. It saves all of us.
