hello anitwt! i know this isnt typically the type of content most would expect to see on their tl, but i think itâs important to bring to your attention. recently because of the outbreak of the coronavirus (covid-19), racism towards asians has grown SIGNIFICANTLY. +

iâd like to discuss how many are beginning to call the coronavirus the âchinese virusâ. although the virus began/may have originated in china, it has been given an official name, which it should be called. âbut whatâs wrong with calling it the chinese virus since it came+
from china?â. well, by calling it the âchinese virusâ, you are targeting a specific ethnicity. giving it the name âchinese virusâ is ultimately putting a bright red target on the foreheads of asians around the world, when most have NOTHING to do with the virus itself.
the virus does not care what the color of your skin is, nor about your ethnicity. the virus does not originate in every asian individual. ANYONE can have the virus and spread it. iâm seeing so many videos of fellow asians around the world being harassed because of their race.
many are using this virus as justification for their racist acts. itâs horrible that iâm afraid to leave my house with my family to get groceries because weâre afraid of being harassed or assaulted. itâs horrible that CHILDREN are being assaulted over something+
they canât control. hate is a virus, and it is spreading rapidly between individuals around the world. my ethnicity has nothing to do with this pandemic. a virus is not an excuse to be openly racist towards others. please spread awareness of this, because it is wrong and should+
be discussed among ourselves. this is not ok. racism is not ok. children with their parents being attacked in public is not ok. i am not the reason of this pandemic.
i know just making a thread about this on twitter isnât much, but it is better than being silent about this issue. i want to spread awareness about what is happening to asians around the world, and why this isnt ok.
