Although I'm obviously pro- #ventilator, as someone whose life was saved by one, I have a nuanced view (which I tried to convey in my @WashingtonPost piece). Many patients on them still die, and #ventilators have serious after-effects.

Also, some evidence suggests the following:

1. #Ventilators are overused for #COVID19/ #coronavirus patients.

2. #COVIDー19 patients need different #ventilator settings than what orthodoxy would dictate.
