My first attempt at learning how to draw. Idk what to do and im embarrassed to say how long this took (so ill do more tm) but i love this character so much i wanna try again and make it better
Day 2: dont mind the right eye i legit erased and redid it like 1000 times and im still not happy with it.
Asakusa so cool.
Asakusa so cool.
I hate all you good-eye-drawing motherfuckers this is a nightmare
Day 3: somehow something less(?) complicated felt more difficult. Maybe drawing a parody is easier when you have the general down bc youre playing off it? Idk
I think im gonna try something harder next time. Dont know what yey.

Day 5: Tried shading and a way different Asakusa face. I feel like im getting her core features down, so the face didnt take me as long as other days. The uniform took FOREVER but that's practice ofc
Day 7: I have much to say about how I messed a buncha things up, but I think the thing I learned today is that sometimes you just gotta keep drawing.
Because man, apparently my drawing version of writers block is making sure two fucking lines are equally long for a whole hour and almost giving up on drawing for the day before you get ten strokes in
Day 8: wanted to draw before strive. I realized i had mostly done busts before so i tried to do a full body drawing for the first time. Even though her uniform isnt complicated it felt like way more work. Good exercise for today.
Day 9: in my struggle to make my drawings look as close to the reference as possible, i kinda realized how to pick some key features that should be focused on, while some others can be a bit more loose.
I might bother trying to do the camo for the hat next time

Im trying to use an intentionally bad reference to see how much i can fill in myself without needing crutch on it but it's proving to be very difficult. Frustrating but any good challenge to improve should be
i think the other thing is idk how much i should be crutching on the reference and how much i should be winging it. i dont have the drawing foresight too see the picture without help yet so i need to constantly cross check what im doing
Day 10: finally done. This was super hard, i think im gonna tone it down lmao. I just love this character so the instant i saw this scene again i had to give it a shot
She looks way more out of it than scared, im not happy with this one at all, it was super hard but i think i learned a bit.
Day 12: man drawing symmetrical pieces is actually a nightmare. I need to practice enough not to spend half an hour on eyes that are a circle and a dot.
