Upon its completion the Bulletin declared the $8000 building an 'ornament to the town'. Over the years, Gariepy modified and expanded the original 24x64' brick structure along 100th street (right) and Jasper Avenue (left).

The successful merchant partnered with a number of different businessmen over the years. By 1902, the Gariepy Block had already extended 75' north along 100th street.
4 years later in 1906, Gariepy extended the building to the west, filling the full 50 ft. wide frontage facing Jasper Avenue.

By this time the ground floor was occupied by the 'Traders Bank of Canada'. G.T.P. occupied the west bay at street level.

After turning to real estate, Gariepy leased the corner retail space to Déchène & McNeil, who operated a cigar store.

No longer a tobacco store, Canadian National Railway ticket office would operate out of the corner retail space. Here's an interior view looking south. (100th street on the left)

The Gariepy Block was demolished in 1960 to make way for the modern Toronto Dominion Bank Building, which still stands to this to this day.
