@MiamiSup Hello sir! I hope you see this. I am a parent of two students at Doral Academy. We had a trip planned for over a year to go to NYC and play with the orchestra at Carnegie Hall. It was to be an amazing experience, with the concert, visiting 9/11 memorial, and many other
Exciting plans. It was obviously cancelled due to this terrible pandemic. The cost per person was roughly about $1,800 per person, and unfortunately for us we had 5 people going.

It has been a month since the cancellation, and we have heard NOTHING from the school besides
“We are working on it”. Meanwhile some parents have tried to contact the district, the travel agency, etc. in hopes of trying to get our money returned. We have heard rumors that the TA said since the school cancelled we are out of luck. This is devastating to hear as we all paid
Up front for this amazing trip with the expectation of services and experiences being provided. Alas, we did not get this at no fault of our own. I am not sure if you are the one to ask this but some of us parents are desperate to find out what is going on and what can be done on
Our behalf. Especially during this trying and rough time for all this money could do many of us a world of good. It just seems totally outrageous that someone could keep this money during a National Emergency while us parents are left in the cold. We follow all the rules and
Procedures relating to paying for this as well as volunteering our time to help the school. We just need to know what is going on and who can help us. Please let me know if there is something that can be done or who might be the correct person to reach regarding this mess.
I can provide any information you might need regarding this situation.

I thank you for all that you are doing during this unfortunate time! Please stay healthy and safe!🙏🏼
