My wife got our van buried and stuck at the end of our road. In a blizzard. In April. During a global pandemic. I run down there and shovel like a madman but we can’t get it going up the hill. 1st truck to stop had two guys who helped push. 2nd went to get a chain...
3rd had a FedEx guy built like an O-lineman who made the difference and got us up the hill and into our driveway...then the plow truck came by sent by Hallowell dispatch. Everybody who came by immediately stopped and helped. No question otherwise...
I’m grateful I live in Maine and in Hallowell where the spirit of community is so strong. We would have been screwed if nobody got within 6 feet of us. We’ve gotta help each other these days however we can.
Oh and the kicker: our kids were home alone up the road and when we finally got the van out they were waiting outside in their winter clothes with glow sticks cheering on all the trucks who helped us as they went by like a parade. Can’t make this stuff up.
