I’ve watched the first two back to back many times but I’ve never actually watched the whole trilogy in one sitting before so someone check on me in six hours

but I think all three work so importantly together to build their lives
like the Apu trilogy. PATHER PANCHALI is a standout but its perfection is enhanced by the films that follow it.

Can’t ever forget what it was like after BEFORE SUNRISE ended the first time I watched it, but I had BEFORE SUNSET to watch right after. I’m sure people who saw it first run in theaters were completely shook. So many after theater debates in bars and restaurants I’m sure.
First time I saw these I liked SUNRISE more bc I hated Hawke’s haircut in SUNSET. Now SUNSET is the one that continues to stick with me the most, speaks to me the deepest. I relate really hard to Jesse’s sadness and isolation and the joy he has in reconnecting with Celine.
omg Céline is 32 in SUNSET so now I am older than Céline in this movie but when I first saw these movies I was younger than they were in SUNRISE
I remember so distinctly how BEFORE SUNSET was playing at the Rialto in Elmwood when I was a freshman in college and I wanted to go but I didn’t go because I hadn’t seen BEFORE SUNRISE yet and I didn’t have Netflix yet so I couldn’t rent it and I think about that marquee a lot
once I had a part time job and my own Netflix account these movies were some of the first films I rented
