1. Welcome to week 3 of #OnlineOrigami!

Week 1’s models are here along with a brief intro. https://twitter.com/keikoinboston/status/1243700209433096193
2. If you don’t have #origami paper, see this thread for a list of alternatives. https://twitter.com/keikoinboston/status/1241872393238388738
3. First half of thread is info about shopping for #origami paper in person and online. If non-essential businesses in your area are closed, it is still possible to buy origami paper online. https://twitter.com/keikoinboston/status/1241866535012048897
4. Tips for preparing, where to fold, and more. #origami https://twitter.com/keikoinboston/status/1243693417059753985
5. I got the idea for this week’s models after seeing this video from origami artist, Ali Bahmani ( @alibhmni) last month. The jumping frog 🐸 is a type of #origami called action origami. https://twitter.com/alibhmni/status/1238232024978251779
6. This week’s models include 2 action origami models and 2 boxes:

1. Jumping frog
2. Masu box 🐸
3. Shuriken (ninja star) 💫
4. Bonus: Cat masu box! 🐱
7. Video tutorial for the traditional jumping frog (no music, spoken English) from YouTuber happypuppytruffles (Heather Lynne Shida). This is an intermediate model and can be difficult to work with as Heather notes. #origami
8. If you want to do what Ali did you’ll need to make the box from 15 cm x 15 cm paper and then make the frog from smaller paper. I used 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm kami. But you could make a frog with 15 cm x 15 cm paper and just use any larger container you have.
9. This traditional masu box is an intermediate model but usually one of the first models that beginners learn. It’s important to make pre-creases as accurately as possible so that the box will hold together when you assemble it. #origami
10. I used 6.75” x 6.75” glossy duo paper but would recommend 15 cm x 15 cm kami to start with. You will only see one side of the sheet so there is no need to use duo paper.

The flaps have a tendency to pop up so you may want to use some glue or tape to secure them.
11. Video tutorial for the traditional masu box (music only) from popular YouTuber Paper Kawaii (Chrissy @paperkawaii). #origami
