@GovInslee you are not my Governor anymore, but your decisions are impacting my community back in WA. King County does not have the same needs as rural WA.
Forcing hospitals in "rural" communities to stop "elective surgeries" is costing people their jobs. These are hospitals that live off elective surgeries, but are not seeing the COVID cases like Seattle.
This could ultimately lead to closure of rural hospitals. The GH Community Hospital serves 73,000 people. May not sound like much, but the next closest hospital to Ocean Shores that offers similar services is 1.5 hours away in Olympia.
It is so easy to say "shut everything down that is nonessential!" Well...aren't you saying healthcare workers are essential right now?
