So I'm really trying to search out some confirmation on these claims made by chiropractors regarding their miraculous cure rate for the #SpanishFlu in 1918...

They're all copied verbatim from this Walter Rhodes guy's "Official History of Chiropractic."

This Davenport claim is busted, with a grand total of ZERO newspapers mentioning ANYTHING about the Palmer School or its chiropractors doing anything beyond digging cellars and having some "fairly good results" with treating the flu (according to a school employee).
I'd love to see this "table" with these meticulously-kept numbers.

Because there was ONE paper from NYC in 1918 with "chiropractic flu cure," and the chiropractic hit was from this ad.
First result for 1918 NYC. End of September.

Apparently an old-timer doc said its just the flu... And Brooklyn Chiropractors are advertising their services for succeeding where medicine has failed—but not specifically for #influenza.
The only mention of chiropractor from The Chat is this ad for "Dr" Edith, which counts for 11/14 of the papers with "chiropractic influenza."
I'm guessing if I searched Oklahoma, the pattern would repeat.
The only thing that comes up for "Dr McMurrain + Sanitary Corps + WWI" is, not surprisingly, this same story.
Nothing about "Dr" Paul of Wichita Falls. 🤷🏼‍♂️
Not really enough to search for "Dr" Helen.
Nuff said. 🙄
So yeah, I'm gonna call this whole story 🐃💩 too.

Obviously not a thorough investigation, just some cursory skimming, but NOTHING is coming up to back up the notion that people were being cured left and right and suddenly all anyone could do was sing chiropractic's praises.
