. @PeterDutton_MP told @2GB873 yesterday that “there will be an element of fraud” in JobKeeper, and Govt has created a Taskforce with AFP, Services Australia and Centrelink to investigate this fraud, “execute search warrants” & “freeze assets.”

I have some questions. 👇
Clearly, we cannot tolerate fraud in JobKeeper. So with that in mind.....

For @JoshFrydenberg - has Treasury done any modelling on how much fraud will occur in JobKeeper?

What percentage of the $130bn do you estimate is at risk?
To @stuartrobertmp & @JoshFrydenberg -

Why are Services Australia & Centrelink involved in a JobKeeper anti-fraud taskforce?

JobKeeper isn’t a welfare measure. It’s a wage subsidy. Businesses register through the ATO

Shouldn’t ATO be part of it rather than social services?
To @PeterDutton_MP - Where are the gaps in JobKeeper where you think the fraud will occur?

JobKeeper money goes from the Govt to businesses, not to individuals, so presumably you are concerned about employers, not employees, doing the wrong thing?
To @JoshFrydenberg - as JobKeeper is being stood up, why isn’t the Govt taking preventive action now to curtail opportunities for fraud to occur, rather than just wait to investigate it later?
Finally - to @PeterDutton_MP

Has this taskforce actually been stood up yet?
Does it have a name?
Who is leading it - AFP, Services Australia, or Centrelink?
Is Treasury or the ATO involved at all?
How many staff are seconded to it and from which departments?
Such issues will be the kind of important matters we can examine in the Senate Select Committee oversighting the Covid-19 response.
@SenKatyG is the chair, and I am a member of that committee.
