Friends: if you applied for Employment Insurance-PLEASE make sure your direct deposit information is up to date with SERVICE CANADA. If you updated w/ CRA it doesnt update w/ Service Canada. gst/ctb/cpp/cerb paid by CRA. Service Canada pays EI.
SO: yes your ei claim will "move" to CERB in the sense of your benefit type will be switchrd to CERB for 16weeks. It doesn't leave EI system. So you need your direct deposit updated on your My Service Canada Account.
Also: Service Canada does call! When they call you they do need validate your identity but they do NOT ask for your full SIN. They ask you different validation questions. They don't need your SIN because they are calling you. You only need full SIN when you call them.
LASTLY: Please go online and get a direct deposit form from your online banking for 100% accuracy. Googling branch # is high error risk. Calling bank for their branchtransit is also incorrect. If you know how to breakdown the digits on bottom of cheque that works too!
If you notice you had wrong direct deposit information on myservicecanada account - NO WORRIES! Simply update so that future payments are correct and rejected payments can be easily reissued to you.
