It is seldom that I post a rant. It tends to alienate folks. However, there’s a sharp pebble in my shoe. It has cut into my foot and I need to get it out.

As we all hunker down, sheltering in our homes, to do our part to minimize the flood of Covid-19 cases entering.../1

..our hospitals, the Orange Menace deludes us with false expectations of a return to normalcy in the near future, as if he can flip a switch to reignite our economy, and our lives. There has never been a more irresponsible public official, let alone a president. /2

He lied about the threat from the moment he was briefed up until the horror of the pandemic was undeniable and unmanageable, and many thousand had been infected. Now nearly 1/2 a million are infected with 15K dead.
Trump failed to act in order to save the stock market.../3

just so he would have a better chance of re-election. That choice, that failure of leadership created the current need for physical distancing and self-quarantining. Thats why we are staying at home. No planning for tests or medical equipment; no planning.../4

for testing and tracing for prevention, to be able to arrest the epidemic.
He says we will be back to “normal” next month; he is delusional. Experts tell us that it will be a year to 18 months before a vaccine can be available for use. Possible treatments could come sooner./5

In Fall, a second wave of the virus is expected and we have a hate-filled sociopath without a clue as to what to do in the White House. This will be a long game for us and we need to recognize it...and accept it.
Hate to say it, but we are NEVER going to be normal again,.../6

at least as we knew it pre-Covid. My parents went through the Great Depression and it changed the way they lived throughout their lives. This will do the same to us, to our children and grandchildren. It's truly sad and infuriating that an appropriate federal response early.../7

on could have yielded a more favorable result: less death and less disruption of our lives and the economy.

Some of our basic activities will change or be nonexistent for the foreseeable future:

Shopping without apprehension (& without a facemark and hand sanitizer).../8

Shaking hands
Playing sports, cards or any other group activity
Working out at the gym
Going to sporting events or playing fantasy sports
Playing music in or hanging out at bars, breweries or restaurants
Attending concerts, movies, plays, etc.../9

I’m sure there are others. Trump has delivered to us the American Carnage that he railed against at his inauguration which, at the time, did not exist. People are dropping like flies and our malignant narcissist of a president is only concerned with his Facebook ratings,.../10

the stock market and lining the pockets of his greedy billionaire boys club: by helping them take advantage of this public health crisis.

I hope all of you are taking the proper precautions to stay well. /11
