The photo in this thread was taken less than seven weeks ago. Early this morning my father Steven Lazarus, passed away from complications from COVID-19. He was the rock of our family someone I relied on for advice and who never steered me wrong
(2) He had been on a ventilator fighting for the last two weeks before he peacefully let go. I have thought a lot about the effects of COV-19 as it has had an enormous impact on everyone’s lives. But the charts and data and graphs and theories don’t bring meaning.
(3) it’s the way it took my dad, it’s that I cannot comfort my mom physically. She tested positive but has shown no symptoms but it pains my family deeply that we cannot comfort her like we should be able to and she has to deal with losing the love of her life on her own.
If you take anything away from this know this is not about data points or statistics. It is about Steve Lazarus who passed away at the age of 76 today. It is about my mom Elissa Lazarus who is tougher than anyone I know. Remember their names. May his memory be a blessing.
I love you Dad
I also need to thank the staff at @Los_RoblesCA they were exceptional. Thank you for taking care of my dad the last two weeks and allowing us to say goodbye to him yesterday
