This will be a thread on what’s going on with shortages at retail stores and what we are doing to combat it.

First most retailers are getting the same replenishment they did prior to the pandemic.

The freight does need to be increased, but panic buying needs to slow.
1. Retailers are limiting products such as toilet paper, cleaning material and sanitizers.

2. Retailers have stopped buying features and are focused on instock and accurate replenishment.

3. Replenishment is based off 12 weeks of sales. Daily and weekly.
Trust that retailers are changing our approach everyday.

We are evolving and watching buying patterns. Working with vendors.

Buying from sources we didn’t in the past.

We are buying up restaurant packaged foods. And we are sending product out evenly by population.
19. There are huge shortages on many items. Now let me tell you when is the best chance to get any Particular item.

Sanitizers. 4pm to close.

Toilet paper. 9am to 4pm. If not out the truck is most likely there ask an associate.

Cleaning. 4pm to close.

Trucks are daily.
Larger markets or stores get larger trucks.

Smaller stores will recover faster due to demand.

All stores would recover in 4 weeks if everyone would just slow down.
13. Not until the warehouses catch up supply won’t change.

What can you do.

1. Buy only what you need.

2. Buy less and visit more.

3. Stop panic buying.

Retailers will figure this out.

Okay now back to ordering.

14. We are ordering further out.
4. Anything that disrupts that’s replenishment will cause huge shortages.

5. Companies base their labor off those numbers as well.

6. Trucks haven’t changed. They are increasing but can’t without accurate information.

7. We are scanning thousand of outs per store.
My store is looking to hire 50 people and have been offering unlimited overtime.
15. We are now buying weeks out so companies can react to Walmart mass buying power.

16. This also eliminates companies spending mass overtime because of a pandemic.

17. We aren’t refusing any orders from any suppliers

18. We are simply buying it all.
Also this shortage started with tariffs and retailers started to panic as well.

It was only a matter if time before this happened.
8. Scanning those outs sends orders to warehouses.

9. Now let’s talk assembly and warehouse items.

10. Warehouse items take 3 days to recover.

11. Assembly items are imports and take 14 to 21 days.

12. When warehouse items are Depleted then they become assembly items.
